School of Media and Art Design was established in 2001. Now it has seven majors including the art design, animation, visual communication, environmental art design, journalism, radio and television science, broadcasting television playwright-director and each major has developed into one with solid professional theory, strong application and relatively reasonable structure of teaching staff, which fully meet the demands of the whole teaching faculty.
Huali College of Guangdong University of Technology has gradually invested more funds for the construction of each professional laboratory year by year, which has contributed a lot to the establishment of a series of professional laboratories such as the animation studio, apple computer laboratory, design studio, photography studio, print typesetting newsroom, nonlinear newsroom, television studio, and other professional laboratories respectively equipped with a complete experiment equipment, the equipment and the corresponding software. In the Meanwhile, School of Media and Art Design has focused on the construction of off-campus practice base which has facilitated building a batch of practice bases that meet undergraduates’ needs of theory teaching and practice teaching concerning various majors set by our department.
School of Media and Art Design has conducted fruitful extracurricular activities, to stimulate students’ interest, improve the comprehensive quality and ability of students, and create good culture atmosphere on campus.
